Kurt admired a good car. He also relished watching of the shows with the impossible road races like Top Gear with Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May. He would have liked to drive a Tesla or a Lamborghini. But he would always hold a spot in his heart for certain muscle cars like the 1968 AMX.
Since I’ve known him, Kurt has driven a number of cars. He had a new sedan that broke down when on the day we met, a Taurus station wagon when we got married, got himself a mini truck in Oakton, the Vibe, a VW Golf R32 Fred found for him that he liked *very* much. Kurt liked driving it. However,eventually, according to Kurt, “the whole top-end of the engine on the VW is shot. That’s why it won’t pass emissions inspection. Couple that with the horrific humidity today, it probably had sensor and/or ignition problems.” I could spend $5K on a new engine, but the car would still have issues … After 185K miles, it’s amazing that it has lasted this long. Just saying. Time to trade it in.” Some guy offered to buy it even after all the issues were disclosed. So, Kurt sold it for cash. Then he went to check out a car he’ds been researching and bought himself an Acura TLX -2016 model that had fewer miles than his VW when he bought that. He was pretty enthused about all the bells and whistles. This 2016 black Acura got totalled coming from work, by a food truck making a left turn into his car.Then he picked up a slightly newer 2017 red TLX which was a great commuter car considering his daily drive took him from Westminster all the way down fairly close to Arundel Mills Mall area in Hanover–about 50 minutes one way.You need a car that gets good mileage, is maneuverable and fun to drive. He liked listening to comedy channel on Sirius XM on the way to and from.
The Vehicle for the farm, hauling. We have a car trailer as Kurt had to rescue us many a time. He bought this when he also purchased a heavy skid steer.
