Generosity

Kurt was an exceedingly generous husband who was always surprising me with small gifts to show his appreciation. He gave me expensive things like cameras and laptops,an ipad, cars, cell phones and two weather stations, but he also bought jewelry and clothing for me.He used to buy me sexy nightwear back in the day when I looked good in such things. I would be elsewhere and walk back into the bedroom and on my dresser would be a package with some jewelry set on it. Or there would be a colorful, comfortable caftan, I must have 20 silky caftans that he purchased over the years we lived in Westminster. In fact, the last day I saw him, he had apparently purchased a new caftan for me from his room in the hospital which arrived weeks later. These weren’t expensive items–I wouldn’t have been really concerned if I lost an earring or necklace because it wasn’t breaking the bank. But he liked to please me and he was happy when I would show him that I was wearing something he had purchased. His secret? Publishers Clearing House– he had been playing the odds since 1983 and found inexpensive items in their offerings.
In the jewelry picture are two rings–he gave me the small tiger’s eye when we started dating in 1986 and the larger one was his. He had a thing for Tigers Eyes as they were frequently among the stones he purchased.

Just a tiny sample of things he purchased that fit on a jewelry box top.
