When I met Kurt, he would often bug out early, saying he had small fry to care for. What I discovered is that he had tropical fish called Kribensis Cichlids that had reproduced. He had to get back home to feed them!
In Westminster,we decided to try a salt water tank. Actually, I think there may have been a salt water tank in McKinney too since we had a store just down the road, but my memory isn’t quite what it was.
We started with the “Live rock” to get the water to the right pH and all kinds of critters come with those. We added seahorse and starfish and all kinds of invertebrate things as well as fish that came and went. We went away for a few days and came back to a massive die off due to the tank filer malfunctioning. But we restarted. Kurt got a bit tired of the maintenance and Niels began to take over.
Lifting the heavy salt or 5 gal water containers up high is hard on the back. He liked the ease of fresh water tanks better.
