TV in Thailand was broadcast in Thai. However, the American shows would simulcast the audio on the radio. We would watch Bonanza and Man From Uncle from the dining room near the console radio. Meanwhile, the “servants” would gather close to the TV to hear the soundtrack in Thai. Dad had acquired a pretty fancy TV for 1967. It had a remote. The remote had two tuning forks. You bang one and the TV turns on and off. Bang the other and the channel changes. The funny thing is that the tuning forks were the same frequency as our silverware. Bank the forks to turn on the TV. Bang the knives and the channel would change. ~Kurt
