Siblings

Kurt had two siblings: Kaye and Scott. Kaye was a teen and Scott was probably about 12 when Kurt was born, so there was quite an age difference between them. Scott passed away in an accident when Kurt was very young, so Kurt was without the guidance of an older brother when he might have benefited from it.  Kurt’s Dad told me that when his Mom’s mother became ill, she went to Utah  to stay and  Kaye took over the mother duties for Kurt. They were exceedingly proud of her.  When I met Kurt, Kaye was out in Port Hueneme, CA serving in a similar role that her own mother had, with the duties of a wife of a commander there which involved expensive entertaining on a regular basis. I understood that when that tour of duty was finished, she was *DONE*. Kaye is an exceptional artist and it shows in the paintings and drawings that were displayed in the Christensen parent’s home. Kurt told me that when she was in her 20’s, she did a modeling stint wherein she walked two cheetahs on leashes through the streets.  Kaye and Scott had more travel experience than Kurt, being older “Navy Brat” siblings whose parents were stationed in various locales.

Here’s a passport photo, probably returning from Oslo with infant Kurt, who had a separate passport being a dual citizen at the time.

The beautiful Kaye. Kurt’s Mom said that Kaye and Kurt were the most alike, when comparing to Scott.
